Celadon Porcelain Yaozhou Reverse Flow Teapot with Lion Foo
This Celadon Cadogan Reverse Flow Teapot, with relief designs of Lotus blossoms and a spout shaped like a tiny Dragon (or Lion Foo) with very sharp teeth, is a vintage replica of old Yaozhou Province teapots.
Yaozhou Province was famed for producing Celadon ceramics (a type of green porcelain) during the Song Dynasty (960-1279). The teapots have an unusual reverse flow filling mechanism. Thus, we fill the teapot through the small clover-shaped entrance, which is at the bottom of the pot, and the water does not pour out. It is in an excellent shape.
